Matthew Will – Managing Director
Matthew was born and raised in Launceston. From a young age he loved bushwalking and hiking Tasmania’s numerous mountains. Matthew has completed the majority of Tasmania’s toughest walks with many off track expeditions, some lasting up to one month. Working as a guide on Tasmania’s Overland Track in the early 2000s Matthew discovered a passion for taking people on a journey. Since that time Matthew has owned and operated successful pharmacy businesses for over 15 years.
In 2018 made the decision to venture back into the Tourism industry, establishing Go Walk Tas. To complement his already extensive guiding and business experience, that year he undertook a Certificate III in Tourism Guiding. He also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course the same year. These experiences have given him a solid foundation for establishing the business and Matt has spent considerable time ensuring that our tours are curated to the highest of standards.
Matt is passionate about Launceston and Tasmania and is excited about sharing it with fellow travellers. He is also trying to complete all of the ‘Abels’ – peaks in Tasmania over 1100m. There are 158 of them! When Matt isn’t climbing mountains he’s spending time with his wife and four children.
