Go Walk Tas Pty Ltd (GWT) commenced business in 2019. The company was founded by Launceston local, Matthew Will. Having travelled extensively all around the world with his family, Matthew felt that, as Australia’s third oldest city, Launceston needed a premium, guided walking tour.
Matthew, at the time a practicing pharmacist, has had a life long association with Tasmania’s wilderness and in addition to the countless recreational hikes completed all over the state, he has also worked as a tour guide for Cradle Mountain Huts (now Tasmanian Walking Company) on Tasmania’s Overland Track in the early to mid 2000s.
Matthew lives in the suburb of Trevallyn, adjacent to the Cataract Gorge in Launceston. With his family – his wife, four boys and their dog. The Will family has always had a strong affiliation with the local area and spend many days exploring the walks as well as running and bike trails in and around the Gorge, Trevallyn Reserve and the wider city of Launceston. Matthew also has a keen interest in Tasmanian history and in his spare time he can often be found browsing his extensive library of Tasmanian historical books. If he’s not doing that, then he’s probably climbing a remote mountain somewhere.
